Monastir Siglo XII Cister is a blend of 60% Merlot, 30%Tempranillo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Monastir is a collection of modern, high expression wines made from a selection of low-yielding vineyards, located on the winery's Monastir estate. Having stony soils with limestone, good drainage and a location that is at high altitude on plateau that provides ventilation. The Monastir wines stems from the old Navarran tradition of Monastery wines from the begining of the last century. Aged 14 months in new French and American oak barrels. Intense cherry red color. Subtle elegant aromas dominated by red fruit, spices and touches of balsamic notes.
