Tasting notes

The Sherry was destined at a young age to become an Oloroso, meaning that it was aged in the oxidative process. Right after the completely dry fermentation, this wine was fortified to 18% alcohol to withstand its special aging for the next five years of its life. The barrels used for aging are nearly 200 years old! It is mahogany in color; it has a nose of raisin and nuts. In the mouth, it is clean and fresh with flavors of citrus and nuts.

Wine maker notes

The Gutierrez Colosia family has been making Sherry in the El Puerto de Santa Maria area of Jerez since 1838. Juan Carlos Gutierrez Colosia, the current owner and manager of the bodega, preserves the beautiful style of these fine wines. The bodega is located on the river Guadalete which provides a perfect climate for the Solera, maintaining the ideal temperature and humidity for the aging of Sherry. In addition to the age-old traditions, his vineyards sit on the beach with the gentle sea breezes imparting a special personality to the wines.
