| 2009: 90 Points - Jay Miller, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Heredad Ugarte’s 2009 Cincuenta is 100% Tempranillo aged for 10 months in French oak. It offers up toasty tobacco, spice, blackberry, and black cherry aromas. On the palate it is elegant, savory, and stylish with layered flavors. This pleasurable offering will drink nicely through 2019. "
2009: 88 Points - Josh Raynolds, Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellars: "Dark purple. Musky aromas of cherry pit, licorice and dark chocolate. Primary, dense and sappy but not overly sweet, offering lively dark fruit flavors and a hint of peppery spices. Finishes with supple tannins and a lingering note of dark berry preserves. This is already approachable."
2009: 88 Points - Thomas Matthews, Wine Spectator: "Austere now, this red shows good density and depth, with dark flavors of coffee, earth and spice wrapped around a core of plum fruit. An alluring floral note emerges on the finish. Best from 2011 through 2015." |
