Grillo (also known as Riddu, meaning cricket) is one ofmany native Sicilian varieties leading a white wine revolution on the island. A traditional player used to produce Marsala, its characteristic aromatic elements include lime, jasmine, and lemongrass. Cantina Ericina’s Grillo emits these qualities, showing minerality – and a somewhat saline profile from proximity to the sea – along with a creamy, gentle texture. Curious about Italian whites? Want to drink in something individual, and respect Sicilian traditions? We think the Cantina Ericina does it well, offering value and a sense of place.
