Pietramarina hails from vineyards in the countryside of Caselle, on the eastern side of Etna, in the commune of Milo. Only the Etna Bianco produced in the region may be given the title of Superiore. The terrain is sandy, volcanic, and rich in minerals. The Carricante, grown as alberello (free standing bush), is indigenous to Sicily, and cultivated only on Etna. The average age of the vineyards is 80 years. Fermented in stainless tanks.
