Enrique Foster Malbec Raleo 2010

Enrique Foster Malbec Raleo 2010

Sku: 050722

Wine maker notes
This is a dark, ruby-colored wine with purple highlights. On the nose, floral notes of lilac and deep red roses are melded with black fruits and a touch of herbs and spice. The palate starts off rich and velvety, with copious black fruit and layered wood and spice notes. This red has a definitive savory quality and classically firm Malbec mouthfeel and texture, leading up to the long finish.

Technical notes
In Spanish "Raleo" means green harvest. The practice of thinning grape clusters prior to maturity thus concentrating the vines mature flavors in fewer grapes. At our vineyards in Vista Flores, Valle de Uco, Mendoza. 30% of the clusters were cut down well before were harvested to make this fine Malbec. We aged 60% of the wine for 9 months in French and American oak barrels; the rest was left unoaked to enhance the fruity flavors of the blended wine.
