Produced in an exceptional vintage year for California, the 2002 Herzog Alexander Valley Cabernet is soft and round and still youthful. The 2002 Herzog Cabernet/Syrah Special Reserve is meeting expectations.  With its soft and round flavor, it has generous but not overpowering wood flavors coupled with fruit which linger nicely on the bitter-chocolate finish.  Daniel Rogov, 92.
