The estate of GD Vajra, established in 1972 is situated in Vergne, the highest village in the Commune of Barolo. Its vineyards are planted with Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Barbera at heights of 350-400 meters, which results in distinctive and aromatic wines. Their philosophy remains faithful to the traditional and authentic wines of Piemonte. "I try to make wines that give people joy. In the past wine was a food, it was necessary for sustenance. Today that is not the case; we choose to drink for pleasure. I want to make wines that bring people happiness.” ~ Aldo Vajra

2007: 90 Points - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator: "An austere 2007, with a tightly knit core of cherry, strawberry and spice flavors. The structure is firm and the alcohol elevated, throwing some heat on the finish. Should settle down with age. "
