Although the 3,000 cases of the 2012 Caro were already bottled and most probably there will never be a 2011 Caro, they felt the 2012 was still too young, so we tasted the 2010 Caro, which has a strong animal character with plenty of aromas of leather, well-hung game, licorice, Chinese ink and tempera paint over a core of ripe black fruit. It seems like the animal notes are really taking over and the palate also feels the effects. The fruit is drying out and the bare tannins remain while the meat seems to be disappearing. This should be consumed sooner rather than later and I fear the existing sensation might just get increased with time in bottle. Drink now.”,,,

Compact, featuring concentrated cassis, wild berry, spice box and aromatic tobacco notes wound with full yet fine tannins. Full-bodied and complex, delivering a long aftertaste of fruit and sweet spice. Best from 2014 through 2020.óN.W.
