Bottled in 2003, this LBV is ready to drink. It is very sweet with notes of toffee and almond, along with mature fruit flavors of raisin. The downside is that the alcohol seems to stand out on the palate, giving a burning aftertaste.

Wine maker notes
Our Vintage Ports are a blend of grapes from a superb year and are aged two years before the I.V.P. (Instituto do Vinhos do Porto) give their approval and determine these ports to be from Vintage years. The color is almost black and it ages for 2 years before being bottled without any kind of filtration. While in their youth, our vintage ports are a powerful wine characterized by a rich color and long lasting flavors. Vintage ports will continue to age for several years.

Port wine is produced in a carefully delineated part of the Douro region that extends 100km east of the city of Porto covering an area of 74,130 acres. The vineyard is essentially strewed on terraces, classified according to a quality range that considers the soils’ quality, the sun exposure and the varieties of grapes.
