Emmanuel Brochet le Mont Benoit Extra Brut

Emmanuel Brochet le Mont Benoit Extra Brut

Sku: 053631

Tasting notes
Concentrated aromas of yellow fruits and honey. The wine has a round and full body and finishes with tention and minerality.

Wine maker notes
Emmanuel Brochet This young man is only 30 years of age and comes from Villers-aux-Noeuds village south of the city of Reims. He farms 2.5 hectares of vines, all located in a single parcel .The parcel is planted with all three major varieties , and the oldest vines date from 1962, In 2008 he began the process of organic conversion, certified by Ecocert. While he doesn’t believe that organic viticulture will always necessarily result in better wine, he does it out of respect for the land.

Technical notes
Close to Reims, in a village called Villers Aux Noeuds, Emmanuel Brochet has been farming his vines since the late 90's. The vineyard is only composed of 2.5 ha of organic Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Situated on a hill called le Mont Benoit, his youngest parcel is almost 30 years and the oldest 60 years old. A unique place where all the varietals are planted next to each other on a very shallow soil made of clay, silt and limestone. Emmanuel crafts with little intervention allowing the terroir to show in each of his cuvees. A young and talented vigneron full of future promise!!!
