Wine maker notes
Winemaker Rosalia Molina I,Rosalia, am the winemaker and my husband Manuel is the vineyard manager. I have always been interested in winemaking and love the process. I had a chance to study winemaking in school in my village, but I never felt ready for it until 10 years later. My husband and I bought this 60 hectare winery in Manchuela, in a high altitude area. In fact, we're the second highest winery in all of Spain!" "After analyzing the soils and the climate, which has warm days and cool nights, we found what grapes were suited to the area: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Merlot, Malbec, and Bobal. Thanks to the poor sandy and stony soils, we get concentrated berries with good fruit, minerality, and good acidity because of the altitude. We started this vineyard in 2000 and are making organic wines. Next year we will be certified organic. Our wines are a labor of love and are meant to express this unique high altitude terroir. - Rosalia
