Domaine Saint Prefert Chateauneuf-Du-Pape 2012

Domaine Saint Prefert Chateauneuf-Du-Pape 2012

Sku: 055126

Isabel Ferrando purchased this old Châteauneuf domaine from the Serre family in 2002. The property has very old vines, mostly grenache, some of which are over 100 years old. Isabel practices organic farming, crop-thinning to ensure low yields, aging in demi-muids and small oak barrels, and bottling without filtration.

The basic Chateauneuf du Pape is made up of 80% grenache, 10% cinsault, 5% syrah, and 5% mourvèdre. The wine is aged in concrete and 3 year-old demi-muids for 15 months.

2012: 92 Points - International Wine Report: "The 2012 Domaine Saint Préfert Châteauneuf-du-Pape delivers fresh clean aromas of blackberries and plum along with spices, freshly crushed stones, black olive and garrigue. This possesses a gorgeous velvety texture with round tannins and a caressing finish that shows wonderful length. Overall a fantastic showing that will benefit with just a few years of bottle age. (Best 2016-2026)"
