Tasting notes

Agricultura is an appealing blend of 30% Touriga National, 40% Trincadeira and 30% Aragonez (Tempranillo). It is ruby in colour, fresh and lively with combined red and darker fruit flavors, and some spice from the Tempranillo. With lively acidity and moderate alcohol, it is a good quaffing wine, pairing easily with food. May be served chilled.

This is meant to be soft, friendly and easygoing, and it succeeds at that beautifully, yet it also develops a little character with some air, a bit of earthiness. While obviously a bit compact, it is pure and fruity, fresh, transparent and clean. While uncomplicated, it is quite charming and awfully hard to resist. For short term consumption, it can be a picnic favorite that you may like it even better than the score would suggest. Drink it young for best results. Drink now-2015. "

Wine maker notes

The grapes are selected from a 42-hectare plantation on the Herdade Monte da Ribeira, a farm located in the coolest and most mountainous sub-zone of the Alentejo region. Alentejo is a large growing region which takes up almost the entire southern third of the country. The climate here is Continental-Mediterranean, marked by low rainfall, semi-arid growing conditions and high daytime temperatures. The grapes are grown on sedimentary loam using sustainable farming methods. After a late summer harvest, vinification proceeds in stainless steel vats and the wine is bottled unfined under a Stelvin closure.
