| This is an uncommon single varietal Vinho Verde made from the Loureiro grape. Loureiro is one of the most significant white grapes from the Minho, on Portugal's northern coast. It contributes acidity and aroma to blends, and is known to have notes of acacia, laurel, lime tree, orange, and peach. This version shows great freshness and character, grown in the sandy, granite, and schist soils of Lima, Minho. Quinta do Ameal practices organic viticulture, low yields (of two tons per acre), and is 100% hand harvested. – Sadie Flateman, Wine Buyer |
