| Toquade Sauvignon Blanc 2010
This is a unique sauvignon blanc, full of flavor yet very well balanced. Asparagus, nuttiness, and grapefruit-lime on the palet with crip acidity and a clean, long finish. The grapes come from a single vineyard in Yountville that is organic and dry farmed. Winemaker Christine Barbe (Ph.D. in Enology and Viticulture) ferments sur lie in steel barrels for seven months. A style that falls somewhere between Sancerre’s freshness and a bit of the roundness of Bordeaux Blanc. Barbe (who is from Bordeaux) named the wine "Toquade", the french word meaning "infatuation," which is how she feels about the sauvignon blanc grape.
