Another juicy, intense wine, the appropriately named 2012 Eruption bursts from the glass with dark red cherry, plum, spice and licorice. This, too, is a solid choice for near-term drinking.

A Rhone Ranger blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Mourvedre and Grenache, the 2012 Eruption is a savory, heady, plum red revealing a dark plum/ruby color, and lots of black cherry and berry fruit intermixed with pepper, roasted meats and dried herbs. Spicy, medium-bodied, fleshy and delicious, it can be consumed over the next 1-2 years.
