Review
Culumbia Crest Winery's H3 seriescelebrate the winery's rich heritage in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. I like the wines in this line because in spite of their typically ripe Washington fruit, they have an old-world elegance and structure that makes them interesting and good food wines.

Winemaker Juan Munoz Oca has created this Rhone style blend showcasing the plush fruit of the sunny south-facing slopes of Horse Heaven Hills. A blend of Merlot and Syrah, with small additions of Viognier and Cab Franc, the wine is barrel aged in a combination of French and American Oak for 17 months. It shows fresh and lively with smooth tannins and flavors of dark cherry accented by rose petal.

Enjoy this with pan-seared lamb chops and roasted summer squash.

Rating
91 Pts, Wine Enthusiast
A blend of 60% Syrah, 27% Merlot and a handful of other varieties added to the mix, this aromatically pops, with complex notes of plum, blueberry, smoke, chocolate and floral accents. Itís silky smooth in feel, with abundant chocolaty flavors that help it go down far too easy.

91 Pts, Wine Spectator
Plush and generous, with blackberry and plum flavors on a velvety texture, deftly balanced with refined acidity and tannins that persist on the finish. Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Viognier and others. Drink now through 2017.
