Sku: 065724

Layered with enticing aromas of plum and notes of violet, this full bodied Merlot shows a robust core of black cherry, blackberry, and cola on a seamless finish of fine-grained yet firm tannin. Lovely floral and clover notes arise, with bright berry and cassis fruit just behind. Sleek, detailed and long, this is a terrific value as well...92" WE Editors Choice 9/13

Tasting notes
This Merlot offers aromas of nutmeg, clove and spice paired with robust flavors of ripe black cherries and boysenberries. The finely grained finish highlights layered notes of spice and cocoa.

2008: 90 Points - Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellars: "11 (a Bordeaux blend based on 55% cabernet sauvignon): Bright, deep red with ruby highlights. Complex nose melds raspberry, cherry, crushed stone, mocha and smoke. Suave and intense, with lovely depth and a juicy character to the red berry and mineral flavors. Finishes firmly tannic and long, with excellent grip. Lay this one down."

Wine maker notes
The Semillon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon are all barrel aged.

Technical notes
(82% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec). Estate fruit from Seven Hills was blended with grapes from Pepper Bridge and seven other prestigious, mature vineyards. Each lot was hand-harvested, gently crushed into 1.5 and 5 ton stainless steel fermentors and manually punched down. The wine aged for 18 months in small oak barrels (30% new) and was racked four times.
