Los Vascos Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Los Vascos Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sku: 065852

In the mid-nineteenth century, two of the leading Chilean wine producers brought vines from Bordeaux to improve the quality of the original vineyard of Vina Los Vascos. Chile's natural geographic frontiers protected it from the Phyloxera epidemic of the late nineteenth century and resulted in an unbroken line of wine stock that now produces some of the finest wines in all of Chile. The Sauvignon Blanc made at Los Vascos comes from grapes purchased on long term contracts from both the Casablanca and Curicó areas. These areas are supervised during the pruning and growth periods by the Los Vascos team.

2011: 88 Points - Josh Raynolds, Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellars: "Bright straw. Spice and herb-accented aromas of citrus zest and green apple, enriched by a deeper honeysuckle nuance. Dry, taut and linear, offering dusty lemon and grapefruit flavors, along with a suggestion of melon. Shows good clarity and closes with fine cut and lingering spiciness. I like this wine's uncompromising character."

2011: 88 Points - Jay Miller, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc was fermented and raised in stainless steel. It exhibits an enticing nose of fresh herbs, spring flowers, baking spices, and citrus. Medium-bodied, crisp, and savory, this tasty effort will pair splendidly with oysters and clams. Drink this excellent value over the next 12-18 months. "
