100% sensational Rioja. It's easy to get good Rioja butit's very difficult to get great Rioja at this price. Forget Crianza, Reserva etc. etc., this Zaco is made from perfect fruit aged for nine months in new French and American oak. It's a pure expression of tempranillo grown where it's grown best and is so soft, spicy and delicious!

2008: 87 Points - Josh Raynolds, Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellars: "Ruby-red. Cherry-vanilla and dark berry aromas, with notes of cracked pepper and violet. Lush, gently sweet cherry compote and blackberry flavors show a bit of warmth and pick up spiciness with air. Shows a good dose of oak on the tangy, modestly persistent finish."
