Review

Bright, dark ruby color. A little smoky on the nose with a nice, slight herbal edge. Medium entry of light but vibrant black cherry flavors riding a stony minerality. Lovely crisp acidic finish that carries the fruit flavors. Really good food wine. Great value here!

Wine maker notes

Escargot Pinot Noir i s sourced in the foothills of the Montagne Noir above Bezier in the South of France. Southern sunshine ensures that this Pinot is ripe and deep-colored; it shows the beautiful wild cherry fruit and cherry-stone notes on the nose and palate so typical of the variety. The attitude meanwhile guarantees balance and a lingering, refreshing finish.

Food pairing

Serve very slightly chilled with grilled fish or simply sip Escargot Pinot Noir with a boil of olives and thin slices of 'saucisson sec'.
