2010: 88 Points - Josh Raynolds, Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellars: "Dark violet color. Musky redcurrant and cherry on the nose, with notes of tobacco and cracked pepper adding complexity. Ripe but lively on the palate, offering bitter cherry and licorice flavors supported by gentle acidity. This juicy, refreshingly bitter wine finishes with firm grip, slightly rigid tannins and good cling. "

Technical notes

All estate grown fruit from fincas named Can Puput, Can Titos, Camp Redo, Sa Pareteta and Es Cos. Here in Mallorca the weather is mild and Mediterranean with dry, hot summers and short mild winters. The average rain fall a year is 450mm. The vineyards are at a range of altitudes from 75 to 200 meters above sea level. The soil is locally called Call Vermell and is a reddish lime based soil that in parts has a limestone crust. The vines are trained in the espalier system for greater ventilation and air flow to keep the plants as healthy as possible. The grapes are destemmed and pressed using a pneumatic press. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at about 25 degrees celsius. Later the different varieties are blended to make a truly Mallorcan wine at a great price. 150,000 bottles produced.
