|Moderate temperatures for most of the growing season, with low rainfall, made for exceptional fruit characterized by spice and bright fruit flavors. The fruit in many vineyards was perfectly ripe at harvest because of the mild weather, reaching flavor maturation at lower sugar levels, making for a slightly lower alcohol wine. Decades-old, head trained vines in Lodi and Amador create intense, deeply concentrated and small clusters of fruit. Fruit from Sonoma and Mendocino maintained the spice and red fruit characteristics that they’re known for. Sourcing from these varied regions across California helped to create an elegant and balanced Zinfandel.
