"Ruby-red. A strikingly fresh and complex bouquet displays scents of raspberry, blackberry, fresh rose, lavender and Asian spices. Racy acidity gives a tangy quality to the black raspberry and floral pastille flavors, which are impressively pure and focused. Silky tannins add grip to the long, sweet, palate-staining finish. As in most vintages, this is an outstanding value."

Wine maker notes

The fruit was gently crushed in rubber-toothed Demoisy crushers then transferred to headed-down open fermenters, with a small amount of the Shiraz fruit undergoing carbonic maceration. The lifted nose emits floral notes of violet and lavender with savory meatiness and spicy red fruits. A velvety palate with raspberry and boysenberry fruits builds to a back palate of subtle spice and cracked black pepper. The silky tannins and a cinnamon notes provide for a long, refined finish.
