|The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon carries a California designation, but is made largely from North Coast fruit (primarily from the Red Hills), and includes 6% Syrah in the blend. Seventy percent is tank-fermented and aged and the rest spends time in barrel (5% new). It offers textbook varietal character with plenty of black currant, loamy earth, licorice and pepper notes. Medium-bodied with silky tannins and good fruit, this is a consumer-friendly, up-front Cabernet to drink over the next 2-3 years.
