Quinta Do Noval Porto Vintage Silval 1998

Quinta Do Noval Porto Vintage Silval 1998

Sku: P-60098

SILVAL VINTAGE declared only in very good years, Silval Vintage Port is made in the tradrtional way. Having spent 18 months in oak cask the wine is allowed to develop in the bottle, it will throw a deposit and need decanting. The Silval Vintage combines power, complexity and concentration wrth a forward, fruity style making rt approachable when quite young.

Tasting notes
TASTING NOTES: The 1998 Silval is characterised by a very seductive bouquet, vibrant fruit and silky tannins, making this an unusually attractive and accessible young Vintage Port. It shares with our previous declarations of Silval in 95 and 97 the characteristics of smoothness, elegance, openness, and readiness to drink while relatively young, and at the same time retaining sufficient structure to age for several years in bottle.

 Wine Spectator 88 points (Feb 28 2001)
Solid Port. Very plummy, with wet earth and grapey character. Medium- to full-bodied, with good tannin grip and a silky finish. Medium sweet. Best after 2006. 1,500 cases made. –JS
