A blend of 60% Macabeo, 20% Xarel-lo and 20% Parellada from 100% estate-bottled fruit, the Brut LHereu from Raventos is simply one of the best examples of Cava available at this (or any) price point!The grapes are harvested by hand and rapidly delivered to the winery, where they are processed via a gravity flow system. At each stage of the production process the atmosphere is controlled by dry ice. Assemblage is followed by bottle fermentation and ageing for at least 15 months in the neck-down position.
From 1984 onwards my father and I worked together to create some new cellars in the centre of our property. We created a wine and a top quality cava exclusively from our grapes. We had the vineyards, the experience and the obsession. We needed everything else. So, in 1986 our cellars were built. My father and I created Raventos i Blanc to be the brand of reference among prestige cavas, starting from top quality pioneering wines, with distinctive character. Our symbol, the old Family Oak, presides over our cellars and our brand. It is the faithful witness to a commitment to a land and faith in ideas that have been perfected over more than 500 years.
