Montgras Carmenere Reserva 2014

Montgras Carmenere Reserva 2014

Sku: P44226

Chile’s Colchagua Valley, located between the Coastal Range and the Andes.

Tasting notes
Color - Deep violet red Bouquet - Powerful aromas of spices, wild herbs, and toasty vanilla Taste - Ripe black and red fruit, full of soft tannins, give this wine a big structure with a creamy and round texture. Elegant and toasty notes from the ageing oak allow for a charming and lingering finish.

Ultimate Beverage Challenge 95 points (Jul 2015)
(Ultimate Beverage Collection, Chairman’s Trophy) Deep garnet color. A ripe nose of stewed black fruit, earthy black pepper and a whiff of licorice. On the palate, it’s black cherry juice laced with graphite and wood smoke. Supple tannins and a silky texture.

Wine maker notes
Grapes are hand-harvested in early May. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After the maceration period, 80% of the wine is aged for five months in French and American (70/30) oak barrels.

Technical notes
100% Carmenere

Food pairing
Best served with spicy entrees, steak, pork sliders, and hard cheeses.
