Tasting notes
Color - Deep crimson red Bouquet - Blackberry and plums framed by mocha, vanilla and cedar Taste - This wine has structure, depth and fine texture with currant and black cherry fruit notes. Flavors of toast and mocha round out the lingering finish.

Ripe blackberries, currants and plums framed by elegant and subtle vanilla, toast and cedar from the oak ageing.

Ultimate Beverage Challenge 93 points (Jun 2014)
Dark purple/blood red color. Subtle hints of paraffin, parchment, dried herbs in the nuanced bouquet. Pleasing flavors of tart berries, black cherry, black plum highlight the midpalate phase. Aftertaste is moderately tannic, elegant, silky textured. Great Value

Wine maker notes
Grapes are hand-harvested during the last weeks of April. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. After maceration, 50% of wine is aged eight months in French and American (50/50) oak barrels.

Technical notes
100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Other text
Rich currant, vanilla and traces of other black fruit. On the palate the wine offers up fine, yet lush tannins with a deep dark fruit core on the mid-palate. This is a very smooth wine. The MontGras is a crowd pleaser. It will provide something for those looking for some character and complexity, but it will also satisfy those who are looking for an easy drinking red.
