Chateau de Saint Cosme is one of the most highly regarded estates in the Rhone Valley. Based in Gigondas, the winery has been in the hands of the Barruol family since 1570. The property
has been in the hands of the family since 1490 and has about 14 generations of family members as vignerons. Their belief of working 'a la main' shines through in the wines as to express at their best
the extraordinary potential of the terroirs, purity and own personality. Rhone whites are often overlooked by their famous reds. This Cotes du Rhone Blanc is a beautiful example of indigenous
white grapes showing true character made by one of the region's pedigree estates.
Blend: Marsanne, Picpoul, Viognier and Clairette
Pretty floral aromas with a fresh and mineral quality. Stone fruit flavors of apricot and white peach, hint of black licorice.
Crisp, generous acidity making it a lovely wine to pair with roast chicken, sausages and seafood with cream sauce. Beautifully balanced, simply delicious!
Wine Spectator 91 points. "Ripe and very juicy, with a delicious, succulent core of pear,
peach and apple flavors enlivened with floral and sweetened butter notes. A nice streak
of green plum and crème fraîche helps the finish stretch out. This has richness, freshness
and length. Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne and Picpoul.
