Paringa is owned by David Hickinbotham, a grower who supplies grapes for some of
Australia's most famous wines including Penfolds Grange. A 1,700 acre estate
located about 150 miles northeast of Adelaide in Riverland, the vines are planted to
sandy loam topsoil over limestone. David and winemaker John Gledhill maintain
lower yields (5-6 tons per acre), practice careful canopy management and source
water from the nearby Murray River.
| Tasting notes |
| Slightly pink in color, the wine presents pronounced aromas of white peach, apricot, toast and slight
undertones of ripe strawberry and honey. Full-bodied and creamy, flavors of sweet stone fruit, cream and
a slight nuttiness round out the front and mid palate while a crisp, clean acid thread balances out the
finish. |
