In the late 1990s, south of Florence, in the hills of Tuscany, the
famed contemporary musician Sting and his wife Trudie Styler
began restoring a 16th century villa, gardens, olive groves and
surrounding vineyards. Under the careful eye of viticulturist
Alan York, one of the world's pre-eminent biodynamic
viticulturists, the vines are now producing superior fruit.
Winemaker Paolo Caciogrna, who owns the N'Anticchia winery
in Etna, Sicily and consults for Altesino and Le Fontiwas
chosen for his ability to make beautiful, terroir driven wines that
favor elegance over blockbuster style.
