Telmo Rodriguez is considered one of Spain’s most talented and prolific winemakers who champions the revival of native varietals and underappreciated regions with superior terroir. He studied viticulture and oenology at the University of Bordeaux and was the winemaker at Remelluri, his family winery in Rioja, before setting off on his own in 1990. His focus is in the vineyard where he farms biodynamically, has revived the cultivation of bush vines and replants exclusively with massale selections. Telmo is also a remarkably democratic winemaker who is as proud of his everyday wines as he is of his rare and limited bottlings.
|100% Tinto Fino, the fruit was sourced from vineyards in Sotillo, Roa, Fuentecen; Fuentemolinos, Pardilla and Fuentelisendo. The juice is fermented in a combination of stainless steel tanks and wooden casks using natural yeasts. The wine then ages for over 14 months in 50% new and 50% one year old French oak barrels.
