Hello everyone, I thought it would be suitable to share some Summer drinks ideas, now, that the days are getting longer and we are getting our much needed dose of vitamin D.
Wine in Cans!! Yes, you heard me right! Just when we started getting over "screw caps" and glass stoppers, we suddenly get hit by the newest craze to arrive this season: Can Wine. There's actually a large selection of Can Wine and Can Cocktails - and we sell them. Some favorite brands with our customers include Dear Mom Rose, The Bridge Lane Rose and these offerings are perfect options to take to your next picnic or rooftop party.
Chill out red wines!! So, now that the weather is warmer, red wines that you can chill are totally back in. Recommendations include Beaujolais, and Beaujolais cru wines (Ronzes villages); and loire valley jems like Patapon - a wine we have nicknamed the evil clown wine for it's label! These wines can be chilled significantly, and still are very enjoyable.
Finally, a cocktail or two!! We recently hosted Paul Masters (of T. Edwards wines) for a tasting of the wines of Jerez - he also batched out a great sherry cocktail 'The Adonis'. This is simply a blend of 2 parts Fino sherry, to one part Sweet Vermouth and a few drops of Orange Bitters. Stirred with ice until chilled and served with an orange peel garnish. Complex, fun, delicious and low Alcohol make this a perfect summer cocktail.
The second cocktail is more of a genre; basically there are a whole bunch of 'champagne' cocktails from the French 75, to the Bellini. Basically, take sparkling wine - ad a flavor change (lillet, elderflower, Orange Juice, whatever), and perhaps an herb or fruit (rosemary, cucumber, strawberry) and serve it up!
Enjoy the summer weather with these excellent refreshing drinks!
