True to the estate’s tradition, this Merlot-heavy blend (about 85%) is dark and brooding with black plum, black cherry, and hints of wild flowers dominating the nose. The palate delivers on the expectations, but the rich texture is held together by lively acidity and refined tannins. This is why Fronsac is such a treasure and such a value.
|90 Points, Wine Spectator:
A slightly rounder style of Fronsac, with perfumy lilac and violet notes, followed by hints of mulled spice, fig bread and dark currant fruit, which linger on the slightly chewy, toasty finish. –JM
