I really enjoy this semi-dry. Slate on the nose with light florals. Pear, honey, some walnuts on the palate. A lightly creamy texture with a warm and clean finish. Pair with a cheese board, some schnitzel, or your favorite cobbler.

The 2020 growing season started out cool & dry which resulted in a late bud break & flower bloom. The late Spring & Summer was warm & dry with cool nights. This diurnal shift resulted in very ripe fruit with fresh acidity. As harvest approached, the vines were free of disease pressure & the grapes were clean, ripe & fresh with the resulting wines showing power and balance.
Harvest dates: October 21 - 23, 2020
Vineyard: Martini Family Vineyard & Nutt Road Vineyard
Winemaking Notes: The fruit was machine harvested and then went directly to press. Multiple fermentation in stainless steel and barrel provided many options for blending this wine.
Bottling date: August 19th & 20th, 2021
Tasting Notes: Aromas and flavors of honeydew melon, tangerine, apricot and Asian pear. The flavors on the palate are rich but there is a cleansing mineral and textural finish.
Wine Advocate 91 points The 2020 Riesling Semi-Dry comes in at 17 grams per liter of residual sugar, 7.7 of total acidity and 11.9% alcohol. The winery calls the finish here dry and notes again that their style is a bit drier than the norm for Semi-Dry Riesling in the region. That's true, and this in perception could pass as a Dry Riesling, just not a steely one. It is also true this winery is one of the regional stars in the Semi-Dry category, although not just because they are relatively drier. The craftsmanship on this brand is superb. This is a terrific follow-up to the gorgeous 2019 and one of the most interesting 2020s in the category. Granting they are not both here together, I'd probably give a slight edge to the 2019, but it's close and it will be fun to compare as they age, which they both should do very well. Both have upside potential in the cellar. This seems full-bodied in mouthfeel, but the underlying acidity perfectly controls the sugar and supports the fruit. It is a pretty brilliant wine at a pretty nice price. You could spend a lot more and do a lot worse. -- Mark Squires
James Suckling 93 points Stunning honeysuckle and gardenia aromas! Very ripe and succulent, yet so pristine on the medium-bodied palate. Super-long, vibrant and focused finish that’s really exciting. Drink or hold. Screw cap
