Bodegas Valduero is ranked among the best in the famous D.O of Riberal del Duero, Castilla Y Leon, Spain. Dominio de Pingus and Vega Sicilia are among the neighbors of Bodegas Valduero. For this project, we collaborated with the winemaking team at Valduero to beutifully craft the best expression of a powerful, yet elegant wine from Ribera del Duero. 100% Estate grown Tinto Fino (as Tempranillo is locally known). Aged 15 months in oak (French and American) and 12 months in bottle. The final expression is a wine of great presence and personality.
Tasting Notes: Visually the wine is very enticing: red opaque hues that show the long ageing "crianza" of the wine. Copper rim in the glass. Deep Garnet and burnt orange.
Fine and complex mouthfeel, medium-bodied and expressive with great balance and finesse. The acidity is well integrated and serves as backbone to keep the wine lively. The low yields and the age of the vineyards add much depth to the overall enjoyment of the wine. The finish is ample with great lenght and lasting flavors.
Food Pairing: Grilled flank steak with a chimichurri sauce and a side of tangy potato salad.
