THE WINE: Vin Soave is our entry-level wine and represents half of our overall production.
We define it as “a little luxury for everyday.” Classic, harmonic and intense wine. Ideal high-end wine by the glass: excellent quality/price ratio.
All our vineyards are located in the Soave Classico area: an hilly area with basaltic-volcanic soil. Minerality and field flower notes make the wine pleasant and intriguing, easy to match with food. 30 year-old vines develop complexity and balance. It never tires!
CHARACTERISTICS: 100% Garganega: this variety was introduced in the Classic area 2,000 years ago by the Romans. Vinification in stainless steel tank. Not fruit-driven; mineral and floral notes that cleanse the palate, making it food-friendly with lots of dishes.
COMBINATIONS: it matches, in particular, with risotto, white-fleshed fish, crudo and sushi, or salads. in the local cuisine, it pairs with stewed peas, cuttlefish, or fresh ricotta. with seasonal vegetables: broccoli fiolaro, white and green asparagus, or peas.
LABEL: This most classic and immediate wine has a simple decoration taken from a 17th century book of neoclassic drawings.
James Suckling 92 points A bone-dry, mineral Soave Classico with a mineral whiff to the limey citrus and green apples. Taut and textured on the palate, underscoring purity and elegance. Drink now or hold.
Vinous 91 points The 2021 Vin Soave isn’t bottled yet, but it is already firing on all cylinders. It’s amazingly floral and very pretty, yet understated with gingery spice, yellow flowers and a spritz of lime. This is silky and round with masses of saline-minerals, orangey fruits and unexpected depths. The finish is long and perfumed, leaning a bit toward the tropical spectrum. The 2021 totally punches above its price point. -- By Eric Guido on February 2022
