Monica Larner writes:  The Ornellaia 2020 Bolgheri Rosso Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia (a proprietary blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) is a generous and darkly toned red blend that has the extra fruit fiber, sweetness and generous plumpness of a warm vintage. The fullness of the fruit is on full display, but in a very relaxed and natural manner. The wine never feels like too much. The tannins are yielding and velvety, and this purebred Tuscan red wraps thickly over the palate. It's poised for near- and medium-term drinking.  Drinking 2022 -2033  - Robert Parker Wine Advocate 93

Antonio Galloni writes:  The 2020 Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is a very pretty and elegant wine. The aromatics alone are beguiling. Crushed flowers, spice, menthol, mocha, dark red cherry and cedar all grace this super-expressive, mid-weight Serre Nuove. The 2020 is a wine of total harmony and balance.  Drinking 2025 - 2032  - Vinous 93

Georgina Hindle writes:  Smoke on the nose, tobacco, smells a bit green and underripe, the capsicum and herbal spice elements sticking out. Elegant at first, forward but dry from the start, the tannins are a little raspy and grainy giving the predominant texture and covering up the fruit pleasure. There is fruit and this has fresh, mouthwatering acidity but they're lost to the tannic hold and sense of exuberance to the wine. Youthful and a little wired right now with tension at the fore. 13% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Director Axel Heinz, winemaker Olga Fusari.  Drinking 2024 - 2030  - Decanter 90

A firm and linear red with currant, berry, chocolate and cedar character. It’s medium- to full-bodied. Fine tannins that run the length of the wine. It’s tight and focused. Energetic and bright. 50% merlot and 28% cabernet sauvignon and the rest split equally between petit verdot and cabernet franc. Better after 2026.
James Suckling

The 2021 Bolgheri Rosso Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is a nicely extracted and rich blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This vintage is very generous, even opulent, with dark fruit that is framed by exotic spice, baking chocolate and softly toasted tones from French oak. The wine ends on a creamy note with vanilla and cinnamon. The oak needs a few more years to integrate.

A polished red, complex and perfumed, featuring black currant, blackberry, plum, violet and iron aromas and flavors. Builds nicely, showing off its poise and releasing the dense tannins at the end. This should evolve well. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2025 through 2040. 3,252 cases imported.
