Bouchard Pere et Fils Gevrey Chambertin 2020 750ml
Jasper Morris 88-91 Points | 40% whole bunch and a short cuvaison. Rich, intense purple. I don’t find it easy to discern Gevrey on the nose, more the vintage and the house style.

40% whole bunch and a short cuvaison. Rich, intense purple. I don’t find it easy to discern Gevrey on the nose, more the vintage and the house style. Fortunately it is a bit fresher on the palate, with some of the typical strawberry notes, so there is every chance that the terroir will reassert itself later. Good clean structure.

Vinous 88 points The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Village comes from 10 hectares from around Brochon, split over 17 different parcels controlled by Bouchard Père. Harvested on September 10 and made with 40% whole-cluster fruit, it has more red than black fruit, offering raspberry, cranberry and light pomegranate aromas; hints of oyster shell emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine-grained tannins, good acidity and a nicely detailed finish. This is a finely crafted Village Cru.
