James Suckling writes: Notes of dark fruit, cloves, licorice, spiced oak, walnuts and stoney soil. Medium-bodied with firm, dusty tannins, bright acidity and a round texture. Fine-grained and balanced, with delicious fruit and a lingering finish. Drink or hold. - James Suckling 92

Winemaker Notes:

A beautiful colour with bright highlights. On the nose, fine notes of toasted wood and spices, combined with candied red fruits against a liquorice background. In the mouth it’s full-bodied, lush, with a backdrop of ripened fruit and mild, refined tannins. Long, velvety finish.

One of Rioja's benchmark Crianzas. A well-rounded red that delivers a solid drinking experience. Late spring of 2017 I had the pleasure to be in Rioja and although a late frost damaged some of the buds, the quality in what survived is fairly consistent.

Aromas of plum compote, cassis and notes of cinnamon and cloves. Medium-bodied with polished and pleasant tannins. Consistent and satisfying finish. Pair with beef-stews or any rice dishes such as Shrimp-fried rice.
