Burghound 92 Points | A relatively cool and very pretty if restrained nose reluctantly reveals its blend of red and dark raspberry, spice and much more discreet earth influences. The delicious, intense and voluminous larger-scaled flavors possess a succulent mid-palate thanks to the abundant dry extract that also helps to buffer the firm, serious and youthfully austere finale. This could use better depth, but the underlying material appears to be more than up to the task. Lovely and this too is worth consideration. *Burghound Outstanding!*

Vinous 92 Points | The 2020 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with dark cherries, blueberry and violet aromas, almost Cote de Nuits-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, veins of blueberry, lightly spiced with white pepper and a touch of clove towards the finish. Great length here. Superb. (NM)
