A ripe nose on this wine deals forceful, rather heavy aromas of black plum and black currant along with a touch of Empedrado's known schisty character. Balance is not a strong suit on this warm-vintage Pinot. The mouthfeel is scratchy, acidic and cutting but also heavy and jammy. Salty acid-driven flavors of black plum and cherry come together on an earthy finish. It is a touch over the hill, so drink immediately.
