McCall Wines Merlot Reserve 2014 750ml

2013 was a very warm year for North Fork growers.  – this translates to juicy rich fruit flavors, nice structure, and a velvety mouthfeel.  Our Corchaug Estate was planted with Merlot because of the unique clay (unusual in our area).  Merlot thrives in clay soil, so we planted three clones and blend them into our wines.  We take the extra care to release our reds only when they begin to show maturity.

Tobacco and leather on the nose. Plum, red cherries, oak & some black pepper come through on the palate. Medium-plus body. A great compliment to a hearty Cuban meal with it's acidity. Pair with other meaty dishes and rich, creamy desserts.
